00pm Care and compassion for the resident Sisters are principal concerns at The Sisters of Notre Dame.
As a Nursing Assistant, you will provide direct and indirect personal care services to residents at the St.
Julie Billiart Residential Care Center, a retirement and rehabilitation facility for Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur.
Must have the interest and ability to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, and elderly residents especially women religious.

POSITION
Summary:
Provides direct and indirect personal care services designed by the Resident Care Coordinator to residents.
These activities include all nursing activities allowed by the Department of Public Health Level IV Rest Home license.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES &
Responsibilities:
Graduate of an approved home health aide or certified nursing assistant program and one year experience working with disabled or elderly adults in a health care setting.
Must have the interest and ability to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, and elderly residents especially women religious.
Requires the ability to do routine bending, lifting in excess of 50 lbs, ease in walking up stairs, and standing and walking for prolonged periods of time.
Job Standards:
Clinical Duties Provides personal care services to residents according to schedules established in each resident care plan developed by the Resident Care Coordinator.
Provides personal care services to the other sisters in the community as needed.
Provides personal care services to residents in a professional, caring and efficient manner, offering comfort and support, emotionally and physically.
After passing a supervised medication pass and test, will administer medications according to physician orders.
Will note and report any adverse reactions or difficulties to charge nurse or Residential Care Coordinator.
Informs Resident Care Coordinator of all clinical issues related to the well being of each resident.
Effectively communicates changes in resident status to Resident Care Coordinator or Administrator.
Maintains accurate resident records, including all necessary and required documentation related to resident daily activities.
Communicates all relevant information to nursing staff on next shift.
Develops positive working relationships between residents and staff.
Maintains a professional environment and projects a calm and competent image.
Has complete understanding of emergency procedures.
Concerns his/herself with the safety of all facility residents to minimize the potential for harm.
Assists residents in case of emergency and helps to assure that facility adheres to required safety, health, fire and sanitation codes by being familiar with his/her role in carrying out the facility's fire, safety and disaster plans.
Attends mandatory CPR class.
Familiar with and adheres to all clinical and administrative policies and procedures.
Performs additional assigned duties at the direction of the Resident Care Coordinator, Administrator or Community Coordinators Professional Responsibility Contributes to a climate where hospitality, compassion and mutual support are expressed to those who serve and those being served.
Assists and collaborates with co-workers as time permits or when requested by Supervisor.
Shows respect for colleagues in all interactions.
May be asked to perform other duties as needed.
Familiar with and compliant with all Administrative and Nursing policies and procedures focused on resident safety, such as Abuse Prevention and Intervention and Incident Reporting Follows the principles of Resident Rights and Resident Privacy as shown by respecting residents at all times and supporting the dignity of the residents.
Abides by the HIPAA regulations by respecting the privacy and confidentiality of the Sisters at all times.
If uncertain about how to proceed, refers all issues to the Resident Care Coordinator or Administrator.
Maintains certification by completing mandatory 12- hour training program.
Completes all required staff education programs.
Complies with all employee health requirements including annual TB test, St.
Julie Billiart Residential Care Center Influenza Policy, biennial physical exam and as needed communication regarding sickness according to facility health policies.
Respects the physical environment of the St.
Julie Billiart Residential Care Center and Sisters of Notre Dame Province House and reports any accidents/repairs needed promptly to his/her Supervisor.
